There is one thing every busy mom has in common – the need for convenience. There never seems to be enough time in the day to get everything done. My days are completely packed from 5:30 in the morning until 11:30 at night. I feel like a zombie, my house is always a mess, I’m constantly running late for everything, and I never feel like I spend enough time with my babies. It honestly feels like I never have my shit together.
Since my husband and I are too poor to actually hire help (oh how I would kill for a cleaner), I have to find things that make my life a little bit easier and allow me to spend more time doing the things I want to do, like be with my family. Some of them are a little pricey, but SO worth it.

1. Amazon Prime
Amazon Prime is LIFE. I use it almost daily. Since we only have one vehicle that can have both car seats in it, I’m on daycare drop-off and pick-up duty before and after work. And, since I’m pumping 3 times a day at work, I don’t take a full lunch hour anymore. This means I have very little time to run errands after work because I have to get the kiddos by 5:30 and I get done with work at 5:00.
Amazon Prime has made shopping super convenient. Having everything delivered right to my door within 2 days is invaluable. I come home to a package on my front step almost daily. Factor in scheduled diaper and dog food drop-offs, and I’m 100% sold.
2. iRobot Roomba Vacuum
If you have children and pets, GET AN EFFING ROOMBA. Like, now. I’m not even joking. This has saved my sanity. The amount of hair that comes flying off our dog is insane. I swear he makes it his life’s mission to constantly shed all over my house. We have hardwood floors throughout the main floor and everywhere you look are little dog hair tumbleweeds blowing around. It collects under all of the furniture and in every nook and cranny. Throw in “sand season” with the kiddos and game over. Seriously, cleaning with kids and pets is like brushing your teeth while eating Oreos. It’s impossible to keep up.
With our little man starting to play on the floors a lot more, we need to keep them clean. The last thing I want to do when I get home from work at night is vacuum. So, I saved up $300 and Amazon Primed that shit right to my front door and I haven’t looked back since. Instead of coming home and vacuuming, I get to spend that time with my kiddos. Find them on Amazon (because, again, Amazon is LIFE).
3. Shirt Folding Board
Okay, this one may seem a little weird, but I’m in love with it. I ordered a shirt folding board to tame my husband’s t-shirt drawer. We don’t have much room for hanging clothes. He wears t-shirts and sweatshirts every day for work, so needless to say, he has a shit ton of them. I had to be smart with his clothes organization. Introduce the shirt folding board. This thing folds shirts to the same size and they fit perfectly in his dresser drawer. You wouldn’t think it would make that big of a difference, but it really does!
4. Walmart Grocery Pickup
Our local Walmart started offering their grocery pickup last fall and WOW. It has the same convenience factor as Amazon Prime. When I just had one child, toting them to the grocery store (or dropping them off at the Tot Spot at Festival Foods) wasn’t a big deal. But now that I have two, one of which is still riding hot in a car seat in stores, it’s a pain in the ass having them with me grocery shopping, mainly because I have zero room in the cart for any food.
Walmart’s grocery pickup isn’t just groceries, either. I can get things like cleaning supplies, bathroom toiletries, paper products, etc. It’s way easier to wheel in for 5-10 minutes than it is spending 45 minutes to an hour shopping.
5. oneSafe App
The oneSafe app describes itself as being Fort Knox in your pocket. It is a security app for all your important data and information. Unfortunately, we don’t live in a time where we can have the same username and password for all of our stuff anymore. But god damn, it’s hard keeping track of all that information. Throw in Social Security numbers, bank accounts, credit cards and other information, and it’s almost impossible. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve had to reset passwords because I can never keep them all straight.
I found the oneSafe app and loaded pretty much my entire life in it. A lot of people are wary of having such important information so readily available, but I have found it to be super convenient. It gives me easy access to all of my family’s Social Security numbers, all of my passwords, bank account information, etc. At just $4.99, it’s an affordable way to keep all of your important information in one safe place. If you’re nervous about their security, you can learn more about it here.
6. Mr. Clean Magic Erasers
The first time I tried out a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, I thought they sucked. It was right around the time they came out and they did not impress me one bit. Fast forward 15 years. My mom gave me a couple because she swears by them. Our bathtub needed a good scrubbing, so I decided to give them another shot. Hot damn, I’m glad I did! These things are amazing! I scrubbed all the nasty shit out of the tub and went right over to the bathroom sink and then did the kitchen sink. Everything looked brand new! It didn’t take a ton of scrubbing. Now I just do some quick upkeep with one about once a week and there’s no need for a deep scrub anymore!
